One card, two challenges...

There are so many fun card challenge sites and I've been wanting to try them out! So, today, I have a card to share that is based on a sketch from Card Patterns.....

and it also fits in perfectly with the challenge on Rae's Use It! blog. The challenge was to use:
Scraps: all of the papers I used (except the white cardstock) were scraps
Punches or die cuts: corner rounder punch
Two or more ribbons: ribbon and hemp twine
An embellishment that I love but haven't used in a while: sewing.
I hope you'll check out both of these fun blogs, if you haven't already, and play along!
Have a great day!

It's Spring Break!

We are so excited that both sets of Grandparents will be coming to visit us this week! Yay!! My In-laws will be here this evening and later in the week it will be my parents' turn.

Normally I share things that I have made here, but I have an exception today....
My BFF made me this adorable memo board and I wanted to post a picture of it. It is just so cute and I love the way it helps me clear some of my favorite pictures off of my fridge. Thanks, Rebecca :)
Next, I have a couple of cards that were inspired by Heidi's sketch for Caardvarks.

This first one looks very much like the sketch.

And this next one is kind of a vague take on the sketch, but I had the papers out and just had to make another ;)
Supplies: (card 1)Core'dinations CS, Paper Salon PP, Chatterboxfelt flower, Cornish Heritage farms sentiment stamp and May Arts ribbon. (card 2) same CS, PP, stamps as above. Also used Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Creative Impressions ribbon and K & Co. Pearls.

And, last, here is my card for Sketch This!

I always LOVE working with Janelle's sketches! This one was no exception.
Supplies: American Crafts CS, Collage Press PP, Every Jot and Tittle (etsy) tag, Crate paper rub on, Martha Stewart punch and K & Co. pearls.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week...hope it's sunny where you are :)
Hugs,
Katie

Kiss me...

...I'm Irish. Well, maybe only a little bit. But~hey I am a red head, so I feel very connected to that little bitty part of me that is Irish. ;)

Just a quick thank you card today. I just love these colors :)
Supplies: Hambly transparency, Shimmer (blue) paper and PP, May Arts ribbon, Crate Paper rub on and Every Jot and Tittle (etsy) tag.
Have a Happy St. Patty's day! I don't believe in luck, so I will wish you many blessings and of course lots of corned beef and cabbage...yum!
Hugs!

Sketch This #81 plus a couple more...

For the past couple of weeks I guess I've been taking a break from creating. And, you know, it was soo nice! But it's also nice to feel a renewed desire to create and so that's what I've been doing...not too much, just enough to make me happy :)

First up, I have my card for Sketch This! Based on this sketch...

and here is my take. I only used the top half of the sketch this week. It was super fun to see how all of the other girls interpreted the sketch! You can see them all here.

Supplies: Scenic Route PP, American Crafts CS and Chipboard frame, Martha Stewart stickers and Dept 56 ribbon.

A baby boy card...

Supplies: Foof-a-la PP, American Crafts CS, ribbon, chipboard frame and rub on and Bazzill brads.

Thank you very much...

Supplies: Martha Stewart and American Crafts CS, Autumn Leaves PP and chipboard, American Crafts rub on and Wrights trim.

and last, a beach card!

American Crafts CS, Bazzill Cardstock strip, Daisy Bucket Designs PP, Martha Stewart sticker, Midori ribbon and Stampin' Up punches.

Well that's it for me today. And my son just got home from school...so I better get going! :)

I love Dr. Suess :)

Always have...always will. And even when my kids get too big for The Lorax, The Sneetches and good old Horton, I will still have the books (and probably will still be reading them too). The reason I'm bringing it up is because I used a Dr. Suess quote on this tag I made....

It is based on Kazan's sketch 21, from 2S4Y, of course!!

Supplies: AC CS and ribbon, Autumn Leaves (foof-a-la) PP, Melissa Frances button, WRMK eyelet and of course the rub on quote is from my fave....Daisy Bucket Designs!

Have a great day!!

Hugs,
Katie

finally back...

Last week, just when I was going to post a picture of my Sketch This card, my computer "broke". Thankfully our friend was able to fix it but I had to live without my computer for a few days! Actually, it was kind of nice, though. My computer can just suck the hours away from me!

So now I'm back and I have a little catching up to do here...

love ya, baby girl for Sketch This #80:

Supplies: Basic Grey PP, Jenni Bowlin tags, AC rub on and chipboard letters.

Hey! for Sketch This #79:

Supplies: Autumn Leaves Chipboard and PP, AC CS and thicker letters, Martha Stewart glitter, Maya Road flowers and Offray ribbon.

And here's one I did for fun last night....Back 2 School:

Supplies: AC CS, Sassafras Lass PP, Offray ribbon, MM sticker number and 2 Peas goofball font.

I fell in love with that apple paper :) I always love fruit patterns!! For example, check out my new little Target find:

Isn't it cute? I love it :)

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Katie
