We're almost there....

Our family is so excited that there is exactly one week left of tax season! yay :) I am so glad that next week at this time we will be celebrating and I'll get my hubby back!

Tonight I have a few cards to share. The first one is based on Sketch This #83:

basketball cards

Every year we watch the NCAA Championship tournament at our house...it's so fun to fill out the bracket, watch the inevitable upsets and of course the "One Shining Moment" as the Champions win! Love it! So, are you watching too? If so, who do you want to win? I picked N. Carolina to win the whole thing....and there's still a chance!

So, in honor of March Madness (even though it's now April), here are a couple of B-ball cards:

One card, two challenges...

There are so many fun card challenge sites and I've been wanting to try them out! So, today, I have a card to share that is based on a sketch from Card Patterns.....

and it also fits in perfectly with the challenge on Rae's Use It! blog. The challenge was to use:

Scraps: all of the papers I used (except the white cardstock) were scraps

Punches or die cuts: corner rounder punch

Two or more ribbons: ribbon and hemp twine

An embellishment that I love but haven't used in a while: sewing.

It's Spring Break!

We are so excited that both sets of Grandparents will be coming to visit us this week! Yay!! My In-laws will be here this evening and later in the week it will be my parents' turn.

Normally I share things that I have made here, but I have an exception today....

My BFF made me this adorable memo board and I wanted to post a picture of it. It is just so cute and I love the way it helps me clear some of my favorite pictures off of my fridge. Thanks, Rebecca :)

Next, I have a couple of cards that were inspired by Heidi's sketch for Caardvarks.

This first one looks very much like the sketch.

And this next one is kind of a vague take on the sketch, but I had the papers out and just had to make another ;)

I always LOVE working with Janelle's sketches! This one was no exception.

Kiss me...

...I'm Irish. Well, maybe only a little bit. But~hey I am a red head, so I feel very connected to that little bitty part of me that is Irish. ;)

Sketch This #81 plus a couple more...

For the past couple of weeks I guess I've been taking a break from creating. And, you know, it was soo nice! But it's also nice to feel a renewed desire to create and so that's what I've been doing...not too much, just enough to make me happy :)

First up, I have my card for Sketch This! Based on this sketch...

and here is my take. I only used the top half of the sketch this week. It was super fun to see how all of the other girls interpreted the sketch! You can see them all here.

I love Dr. Suess :)

Always have...always will. And even when my kids get too big for The Lorax, The Sneetches and good old Horton, I will still have the books (and probably will still be reading them too). The reason I'm bringing it up is because I used a Dr. Suess quote on this tag I made....
