Are you ready?!

Well, ready or not...tomorrow is the big day!! We will definitely be having a white Christmas this year!! It is so fun to have all of the snow but I am a little sad that my parents won't be able to make it. They live three hours away and with all of the snow it would've been nearly impossible to get here. :( But other than that disappointment, our house is buzzing with excitement!

This week over at 2S4Y, in honor of Kazan's Hawaiian vacation, we all made HOT SUMMER cards! It was fun to make something warm and summery. Doesn't Hawaii sound awesome right now? Ahhh, to be on a white sandy beach in the sun! Guess I'll just have to be content with the white stuff we have outside ;)

Enjoy your Christmas eve! And have a very blessed Christmas!!

Hugs!

Ahhh....

...my house is (almost) clean and it smells like gingerbread men :) I love Christmas time! Here are a few cards today that are up on the Daisy Bucket Designs blog...

My 2S4Y card (that I posted on Monday) is also there. I just LOVE everything about this Merry Wishes line.
Last night as I was cleaning my computer desk/scrapping area, I put together these next two cards which I had started but never finished. For the first one, I used this....
Look familiar? Yep, that's Laura's sketch again!

Supplies: Martha Stewart CS, felt flowers, tag and (red) ribbon, AC (white) ribbon, Melissa Frances buttons and Daisy Bucket Designs stamps.

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket PP, AC ribbon and brads, Petersen Arne CS and Daisy Bucket Designs stamp.
Daisy Bucket Designs stamps are awesome for card makers! They have just about any sentiment you can imagine as well as images!! so fun!
Thanks for looking today!
Take care and keep warm....brr, we are still covered in snow here in OR and it's snowing again!!
Hugs,
Katie

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We had our first snow fall this weekend...beautiful and so festive! My kids had a fun time playing with Daddy...I stayed inside where it was warm because I am trying to fight off a bug.

There is just something so cute about bundled kids, isn't there? I love how squishy they look :)

Yay!! It's Monday........time for another fabulous 2S4Y sketch from Laura!!

Here is my take. I used all new Daisy Bucket Designs patterned papers (Merry Wishes line) and stamps.
On another note, I am beside myself with excitement!! I just had 5 cards accepted for submission in the May 2009 issue of CARDS! That will be the most cards in one issue that I have ever had...woo-hoo! Thanks for letting me 'toot'!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Gate fold card tutorial

What an awesome sponsor we have this week at 2S4Y!! All of us on the DT recieved this.....

...the mini scor it!! I love it! It scores perfectly and it makes folding even the most temperamental papers easy!! I have already used it a lot and want to say a huge THANKS to Scor it for their generous sponsorship!!

Here is the sketch from the fabulous Kazan for this week. I made a gate fold card for this sketch using my new scor it (of course!!)....here is a little tutorial.

I began by cutting a piece of patterned paper into a 5x10 inch rectangle for my card which will be 5x5 when finished.

Next I scored the paper (the outside of the card facing down) at 2 1/2 inches from each side.

Here is an up-close shot so you can see the little ridge that the scoring tool makes.

Folding against the ridge, I folded both sides inward.

For the next step, I cut two pieces of cardstock. One will go on the outside of my card and one will go inside.

I rounded the corners on both pieces,

and then I painted the edges of all of the pieces of paper, including my card base.

On the smaller piece that I cut out, I wanted to mark the center so I gently scored it at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. This made it super easy to see where I should center my ribbon when I tied it in place!

A picture of the inside of my completed card.....
and the outside.

Supplies: Autumn Leaves papers and chipboard (by Heather Bailey), Scenic Route patterned paper (lined), Martha Stewart blue cardstock, Offray ribbon and American Crafts rub on and velvet letter.

Thanks for stopping by today! I love to hear from you and so enjoy all of your comments....thank you! :)

Laura's sketch 14

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, let the Christmas season begin!! I just love Christmas time! We are super busy right now....every night this week we have at least one thing going. But we won't stay that busy. And to be honest, I am looking forward to the quiet times with my family the most :)

Laura's new sketch is up over at 2S4Y! It is a fun one :)

I made my little Jingle bell Christmas card with some super cute Pink Persimmon stamps! PP was the generous sponsor this week over at 2S4Y....they sent us all two sets of stamps to work with!! They have some adorable images and their stamps are really nice quality!
Supplies: Bazzill CS, Autumn Leaves PP, AC Chipboard frame, May Arts ribbon, Pink Persimmon stamps.
Be sure to check out the Scrapstreet magazine! They have an article on 2 Sketches 4 You...Kazan and Laura both made sketches and cards and all of us DT girls made cards for the article, as well! The feature is on pages 25-27.
Have a great week!
Hugs!
